Originally from the city of Chetumal, Quintana Roo, she graduated from the Autonomous University of Quintana Roo with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language, and from Universidad Da Vinci in Mexico City with a Master’s in Educational Technology.
Over her 30-year professional career, she worked as a tour guide at the Museum of Maya Culture, offering guided visits in English and French; she also taught English at the primary and secondary school levels.
She joined the Telesecundaria educational system in 1997 and served as an English advisor for Telesecundaria teachers throughout the State of Quintana Roo until 2001. During this period, she also taught English and Spanish courses to teachers from neighboring Belize.
She is the author of the monograph “Didactic Guide of English for the Telesecundaria Teacher” and of several teacher training workshops officially recognized under the Carrera Magisterial program.
From 2007 to 2014, she served as Head of the Training Department of the Program to Reduce Educational Backwardness in early childhood and basic education, providing training to supervisors, principals, teachers, and educational promoters at the telesecundaria, primary, and early education levels.
For more than twenty years, she was also a classroom teacher and acting principal in various secondary schools across the State of Quintana Roo, in the communities of Cerro de las Flores, Tres Garantías, Caobas, La Pantera, Juan Sarabia, and Nuevo Noh Bec, located in the municipalities of Othón P. Blanco, Bacalar, and Playa del Carmen.
She is currently the Principal of the Telesecundaria School Luis Jorge Cortés Mugartegui in Mahahual, municipality of Othón P. Blanco.
